Today was strange.

Today was strange.

The customer I've supported for the last two years ended their contract with the company I work for, and today was the official last day. Some people got jobs with the customer, some with the new vendor, and some stayed with us, helping other customers. But quite a few people lost their jobs - and up until just a few days ago, I was going to be one of them. I'm quite thankful that I'm "safe" for now, and looking forward to doing a slightly different version of the job I do now, but am a little apprehensive to have a new boss that I don't know well. All my previous interactions with him have been positive, so I don't think I'll hate him or anything, but I've been so comfortable with my current boss - we both started around the same time, and learned to live by our wits - our predecessors did NOT leave many breadcrumbs for how we should be doing our jobs, so we made things up as we went along. Our customer seemed to approve, right up to the end.

So it was a day of goodbyes; some welcome, some indifferent, but most a bit sad - when you work with a group of people, argue with them, collaborate with them, and spend more than 8 hours a day with them, you do grow a bit fond :)

I'll miss y'all.

Well, most of you ;)
